The 19th International Multi-Conference

Co-event: WISE-ACT COST action

WISE-ACT – Wider Impacts and Scenario Evaluation of Autonomous and Connected Transport (Cost Action 16222)

On October 17-18, within the framework of the RelStat’19 conference an ACT Training & Education Workshop & Managing Committee Meeting – MC5 of the WISE-ACT COST action will be held at the Transport and Telecommunication Institute. WISE-ACT is the COST Action CA16222 (https://wise-act.eu/) focusing on the Wider Impacts and Scenario Evaluation of Autonomous and Connected Transport. 70 participants of WISE-ACT COST action are planned to arrive. The plenary session of the RelStat’19 conference will be opened by presentation of the WISE-ACT participant professor Dr. Constantinos Antoniou (Germany): “Paradigm changes in mobility: What do we know and how is the future looking like?” Further plenary session will continue deputy Director of development of EDI – Institute of Electronics and Computer Science Dr. Kaspars Ozols (Latvia) with the presentation: “Automated and connected driving in Latvia”.

Additionally workshop and conference participants will have a unique opportunity to take part in a demonstration of self-driving car developed by EDI (Latvia).

Also a plenary session will be held on October 18, Friday morning, where one of the most famous professors in Europe from Delft University Bert van Wee (Netherlands) will present “An overview of ACT training & education” , where conference participants, academic staff and everyone interested are invited.

Learning representations for clustering: some solutions to an ill-posed problems Clustering aims at grouping similar objects in the same clusters. The problem is however partly subjective, and hence ill-defined, as, for a given collection of documents, different users may be interested in different clusters. We propose to solve this problem by learning representations of documents that are better adapted to the clustering problem and that can be biased towards user needs. To do so, we rely on deep clustering that consists in identifying clusters in an embedded space obtained via autoencoders.
